I also had no intake fans i just in my case i literally got them today and my temperature changed to like Is there something wrong or am i just overthinking stuff?

Thank you! If your card isn't downclocking to power-saving mode at idle, it would cause elevated GPU idle temperature and you should see Post 4 here for some reasons why. Your temps are normal and acceptable, no worries. FTW Member. Can do better with some tweaking. If you post a pic of your case internals and some details of your setup people can help you dial it in.

SSC Member. I also use a custom curve in MSI Afterburner, it looks like thisi also included a picture of the case. I got two intake fans the second one is hidden nder the first one, no idea why i did that now when i think about it tbh.

Attached Image s. Cool GTX. Cool, can you post a pic in the basement with the lights off on a moonless night with the PC powered off? Please take a clear pic with the pc off and normal lighting. RGB doesn't help with cooling fyi. Lmao i know that RGB doesnt help with cooling ,but youtube says no! Skinnyreporter Lmao i know that RGB doesnt help with cooling ,but youtube says no! Block off the Top-Front opening. Helloso i moved the intake fans and it helped with the temperature for a few degrees.

One thing that i dont understand is that when i play a GPU Extensive game like Red dead for instancemy temperature goes up to 73 but as soon as i turn it off the GPU temperature drop by 20 degrees in like secondsthats something what i dont understandhow come the temperature goes down so fast? Skinnyreporter Helloso i moved the intake fans and it helped with the temperature for a few degrees.

The cooler on the graphics card is amazingly efficient for its' size. When the GPU goes idle no load it generates really no heat and the cooler is able to quickly wick the residual heat away from the GPU. Latest Posts.Tech Guided is supported by its readers.

Because, ultimately, every processor is built to run at slightly different temperature ranges. And, there is really not a one-size-fits-all approach to determing normal CPU temperature ranges. If you are looking for a quick answer, we have attempted to give you a one-size-fits-all answer below.

1 advanced edm techniques for engineers

But, just know that it will never be a great way to determine whether or not your CPU temps are too high or not. Again, there is no way to give you an accurate one-size-fits-all answer to whether or not your CPU temperatures are too high or not.

So, in other words, if your CPU is hitting those temperatures on a regular basis, you will likely want to dive into the problem further and see what is going on. Again, this is a generalization.

And, the temperature shown in your BIOS will always be a bit higher reading than what it will be when the system is idling in Windows, because BIOS will always boot your processor using higher voltage levels in order to make sure that it will initialize.

There are quite a few different programs out there that will let you monitor your CPU temperatures and some will monitor the temperature on your other components, too.

Core Temp shows you what the individual temperature is on each one of those six-cores. To check what my temperature is under a heavier load, you could play a demanding game like PUBG, or Battlefield 1or render a video, or do something else taxing. There are a number of stress-test tools out there and there is a lot of discussion on which one is the best to use.

The SmallFFT test on newer versions of Prime95 will actually push your processor past realistic levels and, therefore, is not a great method to use if you are trying to determine whether or not your CPU temps are safe or not.

But, the general consensus is that Prime95 v. So, now that I have those numbers, how do I know if degrees Celsius while idling and degrees Celsius under full load is a good range of CPU temperatures for my processor?

While I can tell you that those are generally safe CPU temperatures for the K at stock settings and with the cooler I havethere are a few things that I had to consider first before declaring that those are CPU temperatures I can live with. Once you have those temperatures, then you can seek out whether or not they are normal. And, if a CPU manufacturer suggested a one-size-fits-all recommended operating temperature, it would likely cause more harm than good.

Now, Intel does provide a maximum operating temperature, which we will get into in just a moment. And, if you have an Intel processor, that maximum operating temperature will help you determine whether or not your temperatures are approaching or hitting a level that is definitely too high. An Intel Core iK is going to run at different temperatures than an older Intel Core i at idle and when under load.

The older iQM processor in my laptop is going to run at different temperatures than a desktop processor, or than a newer Intel Core iH laptop CPU. Most processors run at different temperatures, whether by slightly differing amounts, or by significant temperature differences. The next thing you need to consider is ambient temperature or room temperature. But, why is my processor running 3-degrees Celsisus higher than theirs?

And, that difference in room temperature is why your processor is running at a higher temperature than the benchmarked processor. So, before you freak out, make sure you take into account the room temperature your computer is operating in and factor that in.Menu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread. Cooler booster on fan speed rpm. Repasted and Fan Cleaned.A proper maintenance is required for your gaming PC for ultimate performance. A few years back when we play games on PC without knowing the capacity of computer peripherals. After playing games the computer goes to break down and it is mainly because of overheating. Nowadays people using expensive gaming machines and to run it flawless there is essential to track CPU temperature and GPU temperature.

There are built-in sensors to track CPU temperature. The initial temperature of CPUs is the bit lower than before, with using complex technology to make new generation processors. The initial temperature is varied in different models of various manufacturers. There is no exact temperature is decided for ideal gaming. It mainly depends on which processor you use. The Intel identify the maximum operating temperature is 95 degree Celsius while AMD at degree Celsius, but these temperatures are for if you doing some heavy overclocking with insufficient cooling.

Sometimes overclocking may cause permanent damage to the processor and prevent from it use extra cooling systems for it. These two companies make GPUs but there are also some partner hardware companies make their own graphic card with their cooling systems.

It depends on different cooling systems which used by various manufacturers and because of it the average temperature is also varied.

The Open-air is widely used to cool down the GPU. There are mainly one to three fans uses to push air through a heat sink. It can work better with proper airflow and support of case fans. The blower fan can easily see on all the models of the graphics card. In this cooling system, the entire graphics card is covered and there is only one fan which sucks cool air and blows away hot air from the back.

This is not quite popular as open-air as the graphics card with blower fan run hotter. It is preferable for only who have limited space and not proper airflow. There is also a feature called smart fan technology and most of modern-day graphics card comes with it.

So what does it mean? The smart fan technology controls the speed of the fan which means the fan is at its idle speed when the temperature is between 35 and 40 degree Celsius and it is not necessary to run a fan at high speed for low temperature and also reduce noise and power consumption. The graphics card with a non-overclocked condition it hardly goes more than 85 degree Celsius with the proper fan. There are ample amount of sensors are comes inbuilt in CPUs, GPUs and motherboards and with it, the user can see the temperature of each component.

To use it you have to restart your PC and during boot-up, you have to simply press Delete switch from your keyboard. It is good if there is not required to continuously check the temperature and there is no requirement of installing any third party software.

With these, we can see and access function of graphics card and also can monitor temperature. There is so many third party software which also can be used for temperature monitoring. Open Hardware Monitor is totally free third-party software which provides utilities like temperature, voltage, fan speed and many more. But the problem is it is still in beta development stage so it may be not worked with all the systems and components. The next one is AIDA64 which is very powerful and famous among users for providing large numbers of functions including temperature monitoring.

The twist is it is not free, you can use the trial version for some days but if you want to use for the longest time you have to buy it. The answer is NO. Some users have confusion that at the lower temperature the computer runs better and on the higher temperature, the performance is decreased.

If the temperature is within an ideal condition there is no effect on performance. The CPU can work fine between 35 to 80 degree Celsius and the temperature not affects the performance at least. New Member. Re: Gaming with temp is 85 c, dangerous? I'd shoot for 75c or lower if you can. I did not OC my card. Superclocked Member. I know you mentioned this is your first EVGA card Click on Fan "Curve" icon 3. Enable Automatic Fan Control 4. Select "Aggressive preset" 5. Sajin 80c would be normal. Lol, i'd be scared to ever see that number The last time I've seen 80's were on fermi cards I'd try to make some changes in that case of yours Unfortunate that you need that sound-card tho I have like 40 fps only in mafia 3 at FHD!!

Your card is running into its throttle point. That chart with max temperatures is all fun and good, but if Nvidia cards ever from Kepler onwards, so since run past 80 C they will start running at considerably lower clocks unless you've done some specific core overclocking, and they will try hard to keep their temperature below 80 C. The best temperatures for Pascal are below 50 C. That is impossible on air cooling, but with a regular blower style cooler Pascal really shouldn't get any hotter than 75 C - ideally, you'd want to shoot for 70 C tops to get the best performance out of your card.

Go lower and you can clock a bit higher, but you'll only get that if you OC the card yourself. FWIW, I would strongly suggest you find an alternative for the sound card of yours. While gaming will produce max temps of up to 80 C 75 being the optimum temperature to shoot for and of course if lower the better. Hi sriThanks for the reply. I don't have the same PredatorSense as you are having.

Safe GPU temp – Optimal GPU mining temperatures for GPU longevity

How come you have different Predator Sense than mine? I don't see the options for the mentioned changes you have asked for in my Predator Sense.

If you are looking to make profits in the long run then you must first ensure that all your precious GPUs are safe and will survive longer. How will you ensure that? By checking if all your GPUs are mining at safe temperatures. Recently we posted about monitoring CPU temperatures while mining. But what exactly is the safest temperature and how much is too high? First of all we must understand that Graphic cards these days are not so fragile to break quickly.

They can sustain high temperatures but not for so long. Second; graphic cards are consumer products which are meant to play video games and not mine crypto currencies.

Mining 24 x 7 will not damage your GPUs but mining at high temperatures will do so because heat is the main source of hardware damage. Third; each and every graphic cards will have different TDP level set by the manufacturer. Also different cards will mine different algorithms at different temperatures so we will not be able to conclude an exact number that is safer. We found a interesting discussion at Ethereum Forum stating general estimates to understand what different GPU temperatures mean.

Are you sure your GPU is mining? Are you sure it is not under clocked? Energy optimized, Good! You are saving some electricity.

This is the optimal temperature that is acceptable for newer generation graphic cards. Good temperature to heat your room as well if you are living in cold place. However your GPUs are not going to produce any better results so to be on safer side back off a little bit. At this range, GPUs might seem like just doing fine but you are definitely damaging your hardware.

Pick me up white only

Please lower your TDP and get it to mid 70s atleast. You are seriously damaging your GPU. If you are lucky and If it is under warranty then get it replaced or they are gone for good. Put your GPU on deathbed and please do not continue to read any further.

The cooler your GPU the longer their lifespan will be. Here are few tips to increase the lifespan of your GPU if you are in to some serious mining.

If your PC has more than 2 fans turn it on at full speed, if not open one side of the cabinet to ensure there is sufficient airflow to your GPU. Also if you have a mining rig make sure that there is enough space between each graphic cards.

If you have more than 2 rigs and if you are mining from a place where the weather is hot then you must consider cooling your room. If not air conditioner then go for an external fan and open all windows to ensure there is better airflow in the mining room.

Since the mining rigs are open all the time dust can accumulate greatly. Too much dust will crash your GPU often which is bad so clean your PC and mining rigs at least once in a month.

While mining the miner program will display the power your card consumes and at what temperature it runs. You can play around with the over clocking utility MSI Afterburner to find the better spot for your cards. Graphic cards these days are good at producing better results while consuming less power and generating less heat. Hope this guide cleared your doubts on optimal GPU temperatures for mining.

If you found this guide helpful then please do share it. If you would like to add some extra tips to other users regarding GPU temperatures then please make your comment.
